• First Installment Wins: This episode is generally considered the strongest of the third series' Retooled format, since it has no Kate, actual follow-up on Marian's death, seems to have a stronger grasp of continuity from the first two series (including bringing back the guest character of Sir Jasper from "Walkabout"), John, Much and Allan all have a reasonable amount to do, at this point the show seems to have some idea what it actually wants to do with Tuck, and it lacks the Big-Lipped Alligator Moments or Idiot Plots that caused later episodes to fall into Uncertain Audience territory.
• Special Effect Failure: When Robin cuts Gisborne's face with his knife, the camera cuts to Gisborne fractionally too early, showing that the scar is already there before Robin actually runs the knife across his face.
