- Unintentional Uncanny Valley: While the animation in the game is gorgeous and well done, there are times that the player may well shiver looking at the unreal realism.
- The Woobie: Monica, dear God, Monica. She falls in love with a guy who just wants to use her to smuggle contraband into the country, is the only one of her friends who doesn't mock Josh, is beheaded in a horrifying manner by Ernst, then is brought back to life and sewn into a puppet, forced to battle him. Her comments to him during their battle vary between apologies ("I'm sorry! Something is controlling me! I'm not a monster! Please don't hate me!") and mockery ("Why won't you let me kill you?!? I want to share my beautiful pain!") At a certain point, you want to kill her just to put her out of her misery.
