- Funny Moments: The montage of Hinako tries to bring Minato's ghost on the same fun activities they did when they were alive, including her 'dating' an empty chair, holding 'hands' with a water bottle, and trying shirts on a water-filled finless porpoise toy.
- Moment of Awesome: The climax of the movie has Minato creating a huge rising wall of water to put out the fire and save Hinako and Yoko, and then Hinako and Yoko surf down the water column on a backboard to the streets below. By the end of the sequence it stops being suspenseful and starts being fun.
- Tear Jerker: The ending, as Hinako is enjoying a Christmas outing with Wasabi and Yoko and various dedications are read over the loudspeakers. She stops when one of the dedications turns out to be from Minato, who has written it the year before, saying he loves her and he hopes they are listening to the dedication together in the future. The still-grieving Hinako is overwhelmed with emotion and can't do anything but sink to the ground and cry at what is essentially Minato's final message.
