• Moral Event Horizon: The Demons leap over it when they start to brutally kill innocents after Rick's deal with them is broken by Jerry.
• Shallow Parody: The Running Gag with the Cenobite expies is that they perceive pain as pleasure and pleasure as pain, frequently going back and forth on whether they like something as a result (because if it's painful, then that causes them pleasure, which causes them pain, which causes them pleasure, which... you get the idea). The canonical Cenobites, meanwhile, were implied to be so jaded in their tastes that any sensation strong enough to be worth bothering with for them was strong enough to be torturous to a human. Regular pleasure wouldn't have hurt them; they just wouldn't have noticed it.
