• Overshadowed by Controversy: While Iorio is still somewhat regarded as a legend of Argentinian metal music, he is nowadays primarily known for his increasingly bizarre views (like supporting the idea that the Earth is flat) and his turn to the extremist right towards the end of his life.
• Values Dissonance: Oh, boy, where to begin...
  • His comments about the people murdered by the junta were shocking even in their time, but have only become worse ever since the perpetrators have been actually brought to justice and the extent of their crimes was publicly revealed.
  • His verbal attacks against Argentinian Jews, suggesting they're automatically disloyal to Argentina and aren't true Argentines, would nowadays be immediately branded anti-Semitic. In fact, Iorio did face a substantial backlash even at the time, but with racism and xenophobia taken much more seriously today, it's almost certain he would have been punished much more severely and probably "cancelled", turning him into a niche for the far-right, not just face criticism in the Argentinian media.
  • The mere fact Iorio changed words of his song La Revancha de América because the Mapuche people had "used" the song for protests, which is probably his most infamous and outright racist action. In an era where the plight and systemic racism against indigenous Argentines (and native Americans in general) is much better recognised, this incident on its own would probably be enough to take his platform away. Ironically, Iorio himself was a part Tehuelche, although his fair complexion had allowed him to "pass" as white.
  • Finally, his late friendship with Alejandro Biondini, one of the leading neo-Nazis in Argentina. Again, it's unclear how mentally healthy Iorio was towards the end of his life, and his beliefs did get progressively more deranged with age, but combined with his earlier comments on ethnic minorities, this topic was always very unpleasant, and only got more unpleasant with time.
