  • Broken Base: These days, many of their vinyl reissues can typically be a hit or miss, depending on the band and the mastering process. Of course, you can have extremely good pressings of well sought after bands (i.e, New Order), but then you can have bad pressings which sound terrible, with awful mastering and bad sibilance. For most people into vinyl today however, they're seen in a cautious light compared to other labels.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The 1983 album The Rhino Brothers Present the World's Worst Records included a new recording of impressionists singing "I Wanna Be Your Dog" by The Stooges in the voices of The Three Stooges. Shortly afterwards, Rhino reissued a 1959 Three Stooges Christmas album. But then later on, they started releasing reissues of The Stooges as well.
  • Once Original, Now Common: Deluxe reissues are so par for the course for albums that the Rhino approach doesn't seem as groundbreaking these days.
