  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • In this story, Jewelry Bonney is the mother of Bartholomew Kuma. In canon, she is Kuma's daughter who wanted her father restored back to normal even if she had to threaten Vegapunk to do it.
      • In this story, Kuma is a brutal king who earned his epithet of "Tyrant" after ascending to the throne and committing horrible crimes upon the people of Sorbet Kingdom and they revolted against him in response. In canon, he is actually a kind hearted and selfless man who was beloved by the people and the one who was the actual brutal ruler is Bekori who attempted to burn down half of Sorbet Kingdom, inspired from the Grey Terminal incident at Goa Kingdom and slandered Kuma's name with the "Tyrant" epithet for defying him and overthrowing him in defense of Sorbet's people.
    • Admiral Ryokugyu, or Ricardo in this story, is a cool laid-back man and a member of SWORD whose organization's aim is to reform the World Government. In canon however, Ryokugyu, or rather Aramaki, is actually an Insane Admiral who is a fanatical loyalist of the World Nobles with a Black-and-White Insanity mindset.
    • In this story, Kuzan is the leader of SWORD who is deep undercover within the Blackbeard Pirates as the Tenth Titanic Captain. In canon however, he truly left the Marines for real and became one of the Ten Titanic Captains as he confronts Garp as a Blackbeard Pirate member and froze Hibari, a member of SWORD who rescues Koby.
    • In this story, Imu or Rocks D. Xebec in disguise kills Nefertari Cobra so that it triggers Vivi's power as Pluton. In One Piece canon, Imu (whose true identity has yet to be revealed so far) kills the ruler of Alabasta after hearing that Lili, the ancestor of the Nefertari family who refused to ascend to Mariejois with the 19 founders of the World Government as World Nobles, happens to be one of the D's.
    • In this story, there was a chip used to bring back Kuma his humanity made by Vegapunk. In One Piece canon however, Vegapunk did create a chip and tried to appeal to Jaygarcia Saturn in a Last-Minute Reprieve but the Five Elders member flat-out rejected and warned he will find out if Vegapunk will try to circumvent the final operation to strip away Kuma of his humanity and pay the consequences.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • A certain character’s bounty being in the ‘’3 billions’’ turns out to be very accurate in canon. At 3,590,000, Mihawk’s bounty is only very slightly ‘’lower’’ than the webcomic’s 3,690,000.
    • In this story, Admiral Ryokugyu's power is Plant-Plant Fruit which allows him to control and manipulate plant life. In canon, it is revealed to be Woods-Woods Fruit that does exactly that. Though it still retains it's Japanese name; Mori Mori no Mi
    • Vegapunk is a member of the Revolutionary Army in this story. In canon, he refused to join Dragon because the latter's organization doesn't have the funds he needed for creating new inventions and discoveries of science.
    • Miss Bakkin is a Rocks Pirate in this story as a stunning woman with floating hearts in the past in Chapter 1. In canon, she is confirmed to be a member of the Rocks Pirates and the source of DNA that created Stussy, her younger clone.
    • Ryokugyu, or Ricardo in this story, takes off his shirt to fight the Revolutionary Commanders which was Lampshaded by Kaku. In canon, Ryokugyu, or rather Aramaki, was revealed to be always shirtless from the start.
    • Karasu's Logia Devil Fruit is called the Tar-Tar Fruit. In canon, while confirmed to be a Logia, it's actually revealed to be the Soot-Soot Fruit.
    • In this story, the first king of Alabasta decided not to ascend to Mariejois and continues ruling the desert country. In One Piece canon, it was actually revealed to be Queen Nefertari D. Lili who chose not to ascend and attempts to return to Alabasta but seemingly disappeared, leaving her brother being the new ruler in her place.
    • In this story, the names of the Five Elder Stars were revealed alongside their various Devil Fruit, Six Powers and Haki abilities. In One Piece canon, their names were officially revealed to be different as they're in accordance with the major planets of the Solar System and that they seemingly have eldritch-looking shadow forms upon transforming when Sabo attacks them.
    • The former members of CP9 are all shown as members of CP0 in this story. Afterwards, Kalifa and Blueno would appear as CP0 agents in One Piece Film: Red, while Jabra, Blueno, Kumadori, and Fukurou would be confirmed members in Chapter 1083.
    • In this story, Jewelry Bonney is Queen Dowager Bartholomew Connie. In canon, there was an actual Queen Dowager Connie and she was often mistaken even by Kuma to be Bonney who used the Age-Age Fruit to turn herself old. Bonney and Connie are even standing next to each other, showing how similar they look.
      • In this story, Bonney's Devil Fruit is revealed to be Age-Age Fruit when using it against Stussy, turning her into a kid for Bonney to knock her out with a punch. In canon, the said Devil Fruit is also revealed to be the Age-Age Fruit as well.
  • They Copied It, So It Sucks!: Critics of Chapter 6 often don't like the fact that many of The Reveals were cribbed straight from Naruto and Attack on Titan, from the idea of Reincarnations of Joy Boy and Queen Umi destined to perpetuate a conflict between freedom and strength through historical figures into the present day, to the idea that the Red Line is actually made up of humanoid stone giants merged together into a giant wall. Though the former idea is alleviated somewhat when Roger himself decries it as bunk.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Many fans were enthused at the Five Elder Stars getting the Adaptational Badass treatment, so when Dragon blew them all off the Red Line, many of them were hoping they'd come back, only to be disappointed when Imu outright says they were killed by the fall.
