- Heartwarming Moments: For a morbid series like this, it's very sweet to see Richard, in Chapter 39, comfort his son after the latter had a nightmare of his father dying in the war.Richard: I'm not going to die. I have fought and won against my enemies many times[...] Do you feel better? Is there something else?
(Beat)
Edward: I want you to hug me... I'm sorry! I- I'll get stronger!!Richard: Come. *pulls his son into a hug* - Seasonal Rot: Opinions of the story start to turn sour after Volume 3, where Richard's more feminine attributes are emphasized and he gets into a controversial relationship with The Duke of Buckingham. The reason for said character's later betrayal of Richard isn't taken well, either.
- The Woobie: It's probably a lot easier to list who's not a woobie, but Richard, Henry, and George are a few notable examples.
