for New Rally-X has been ingrained in the minds of arcade players since The '80s for how dang catchy it is. - Fan Nickname: In South Korea and Latin America, it was named as The Farty Car, because the smoke used in the game for stopping the rival cars resemble farts.
- Sequel Displacement: The New Rally-X variant is handily seen as the better game over the standard Rally-X, to the point where in most Namco Museums, New Rally-X is the version that is kept front-and-center, whereas standard Rally-X is either tucked away, or even entirely absent.
