  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Josh can be seen as a pathetically out of touch Woobie obsessed with living in the past and hostile to anything new in entertainment.
  • Funny Moments: On the one year anniversary, which was a clip show, Josh decided to fake the last four clips, one of which was a massive fistfight Brad and Jerrid got into over My Little Pony.
Jerrid: Look, all I’m saying is that My Little Pony: The Movie (1986) was really well done. There was good voice work, good animation, I just don’t see why anybody would hate on it.
Brad: Is that all you’re saying? I think you should elaborate more on that. Saying that movie has artistic merit is like saying that my niece who drew that little coloring thing on my fridge is Rembrandt.
Jerrid: Well of course it’s got artistic merit, think of all the hard work the actors went through, that the animators went through, it was a masterpiece.
Brad: Oh yeah, you know what else took hard work? The Holocaust!
Jerrid: Oh, there you go, breaking Godwins Law! Dude, that’s real classy.
Brad: What does Godfrey Ho’s law have anything to do with this? All I’m saying is that I have a dick, therefore I hate My Little Pony! Apparently, you have a vagina, so go figure, you like it.
Jerrid: Oh, I’ll show you who has a vagina.
[gets into slap fight with Brad]
Brad: Stop jerking me off, it’s not helping your case!
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: During his brief time on the show, Brian Lewis lamented not having a derogatory nickname like Faggot Josh and asked the fans to give him one. A year later, he was dubbed Slaver Brian and can't shake off the nickname.
  • It's Popular, Now It Sucks!: Related to the below, Josh hates things that mainstream culture has embraced. His homepage says "Most of what is popular is shit and that by definition the mainstream will be MAINSTREAM and therefore useless".
  • Padding: Sometimes the show steers into this as either Josh or his co-hosts go off topic for a while.
    • In an episode about grindhouse film theaters Josh interviews someone who has firsthand experience of visiting those theaters. At a certain point Josh starts talking about the days he worked in a film theater, including telling an anecdote about an audience member who was secretly smoking, but when confronted with this by Josh flatout kept denying that he did this. For some reason Josh aggressively keeps ranting about this topic, which really hasn't got much to do with grindhouses in general.
    • Josh also has a tendency to shoehorn in everything that has recently pissed him off, even though most of it has nothing to do with the topic in general and is mostly about his own personal life.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Hadley dislikes most of the stuff that premiered after 1995. Most of the times he will complain that certain things he enjoyed when he was younger have vanished completely, among others: video stores, laserdiscs, "real" midnight movie screenings, 35mm film, and so forth.
