YMMV / Rabbit Rampage

  • It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: A common complaint about this cartoon is that it is too similar to Duck Amuck, having the same general plot of a cartoon character being tormented by a rogue animator, as well as similar jokes.
  • Moment of Awesome:
    • The Reveal that Elmer was the one tormenting Bugs throughout the cartoon. It's impressive to see an otherwise Harmless Villain score a rare victory against someone as clever as Bugs.
    • The big kicker is that not only did Elmer give Bugs A Taste of Their Own Medicine after Duck Amuck, he surpassed him at it. While Bugs just trolled Daffy with whatever prank he could conjure up, as Daffy would be too Genre Blind and egotistical to ever quit, Elmer, knowing Bugs would be smart enough to catch on and try bail or even retaliate the instant the game turned on him, systematically targets Bugs' ego, goading him into staying and even mocking his much-treasured main star image, all while Bugs tries strainuously to resist breaking composure. It's so unexpected to see Elmer outsmart Bugs via fluent Flaw Exploitation.
  • One-Scene Wonder: Elmer Fudd, especially due to being one of his few victories against Arch-Enemy Bugs.
Elmer: Weww anyway, I finawwy got even with that scwewwy wabbit!
  • Tough Act to Follow: Given how ingenious and genre busting Duck Amuck was considered upon its release, Rabbit Rampage is considered a lesser rehash, retreading the gags of the original aside from the rare distinction of Comically Invincible Hero Bugs Bunny playing Butt-Monkey to Elmer Fudd for once. Overall, the thing is, the cartoons are both pretty much the same, and you can hardly enjoy both one after the other; some people saw Rabbit Rampage first and were disappointed in Duck Amuck as a result. What's more, Jones' more poised and composed depiction of Bugs still carries through here—there is no scene that matches any of Daffy's epic freak-outs. While this does manage to make both cartoons' punchlines and intents somewhat different (indeed the whole point is Bugs trying to evade a cartoon that will harm his iconic dignity), it generally means Rabbit Rampage's best jokes are more subdued than Duck Amuck's.
