  • Adorkable:
    • A.R.F. has this in spades, especially with Tom Kenny voicing him.
    • Bob's excitable personality also puts him in this category.
  • Memetic Mutation: One of the shelves in Bob's house is the chemical structure for LSD.
  • One True Pairing:
    • It's minor, but Bob has gotten a bit of shipping with Chloe's mom, mostly stemming from how she's one of the few characters in the series to frequently interact with him, on top of already being nice to him. For example, "Walking The Bob" has her and Chloe slightly confused about why Bob is acting strangely since he's temporarily blind, but they take it in stride, even in the ending when he mistakenly gives them drum sticks as flowers. "Haunted Howl-o-ween" has the pups determined to get Chloe's costume back, making this the first episode where they help someone other than Bob, Hissy, ARF, or anyone related to them.
    • With Season 3, the focus has now shifted to Bob and Anna, who works with him at the Puppy Playcare.
  • Seasonal Rot: The show began to lose steam in Season 5, due to its heavy focus on Buster, Leo, Roxy, and Nougat, while reducing Bingo and Rolly to becoming supporting players, and pushing Hissy, A.R.F., Keia, and Lollie into the background.
  • Spiritual Successor: The show is pretty much the Disney version of Pound Puppies (2010), due to having a similar plot of dogs going off on their job to help someone. Both shows even have some common crew members.
  • Sweetness Aversion: The episode "Design A Dog" really lays the cute and fluffy aspect pretty thick. Then again, that's probably the point.
