YMMV / Psycho Cop Returns

Go To

  • Best Known for the Fanservice: The three strippers, arguably to Ensemble Dark Horse levels. They tend to be brought up by reviews discussing whether or not to see the film.
  • Complete Monster: Joe Vickers is a psychopathic Satanist who is Impersonating an Officer after God does not respond to him. In the first film, Vickers kills a random couple after they find the killing of another random person. Vickers murders the caretaker of an apartment and then murders Zack. Vickers later picks off the couples, killing Eric, Julie, Sarah, and then two cops and crucifying their bodies. During the sequel, Vickers enters a bachelor party by tricking the guard, and then kills him by stabbing him through the eye with a pencil. Vickers then murders another man by pushing him off an elevator shaft, and then shoots another guy and pushes the stripper he was with off the roof, and then kills two more people. After Vickers murders Larry and chases three women to the stairwell, he threatens to shoot one of them if Sharon doesn't back down. To make sure Sharon knows he is serious, he shoots another woman. However, Vickers reveals that he was invoking Exact Words and snaps the woman's neck. Vickers survives his encounter, and while in the hospital, he massacres the two doctors and police officers watching him.
  • Even Better Sequel: Aside from Vickers' bad puns, the first film was still your average by-the-book slasher film. Returns amps the amount of gore, skin and bad puns making it a tremendously entertaining B-Movie.
  • Ham and Cheese: There's not too much being taken seriously by the actors of this film and it's funny that way.
  • He's Just Hiding: The Neck Snap Vickers gives Stephanie could have been nonfatal, although the news report at the end implies that it was.
  • Love to Hate: Slimy bachelor party host Larry is douchey but entertaining.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Giving the strippers (especially the one played by Julie Strain, who did have a few future action movies) no real personality or Action Survivor moments aside from noticing the contradiction in Vickers claiming that their friend called him and also that she's dead outside (blowing his deception), and killing them all off fairly abruptly can be a bit off-putting, especially for adding to the objectification of them.
