Unintentionally Sympathetic: Sethir, early on. He tries to arrest a wanted fugitive and ends up beaten, forced into servitude, watches his friend die, dies himself and is essentially held prisoner by people who insult or threaten him every second scene, all whilst the original story treats Seth like a jerk throughout this and the author even commented that he'd get 'comeuppance, in a way which only someone like Daryil would do'. Later chapters, around Salomere's prison break, and the comic adaptation both lean into this more, changing aspects such as removing some of his darker inferences* Like that he'd killed his abusive foster parents or individuals to hide his Cubi nature, made him more off-balance * Story!Seth figures out that he's an android and reacts to the reveal of Cross relatively calmly whilst sabotaging Dorcan's dramatic reveal out of pettiness, whilst Comic!Seth tends to cower in the fetal position and/or cry and changing his and Dorcan's post-resurrection interactions.* Story!Dorcan has a number of friendly comments towards Seth that are either cut or given to others, with Seth repaying this by being mean enough to make him cry, leaving Comic!Dorcan with either screaming angrily or lording the servitude over him
