  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: Sethir, early on. He tries to arrest a wanted fugitive and ends up beaten, forced into servitude, watches his friend die, dies himself and is essentially held prisoner by people who insult or threaten him every second scene, all whilst the original story treats Seth like a jerk throughout this and the author even commented that he'd get 'comeuppance, in a way which only someone like Daryil would do'. Later chapters, around Salomere's prison break, and the comic adaptation both lean into this more, changing aspects such as removing some of his darker inferences, made him more off-balance and changing his and Dorcan's post-resurrection interactions.
