YMMV / Project A

Go To

  • Awesome Music: Oriental Majesty, the theme to Project A, is among the most popular of Jackie Chan's theme songs.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The film was a huge hit in Japan, and the sixth most successful film there in 1984. Emperor Hirohito's fondness of the film led to the sequel being greenlit.
  • Moment of Awesome:
    • The clocktower fall in the first film is commonly cited among Jackie Chan's best stunts in his career, where he falls 60 ft/18 m off the clocktower, onto several awnings, before hitting the ground. And it was attempted at least three times.
    • The bamboo facade falling on Jackie in the second film is no less dangerous. He had to stand precisely in the place where the hollowed section is projected to fall to avoid getting squashed by the facade.
  • Sequelitis: Project A Part II isn't as fondly remembered as the first film, largely due to the blander villains and the absence of Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao. Ironically, said sequel made it into 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die instead of the first.
