• Base-Breaking Character:
  • People find Flo's general personality to either be endearing and likeable or annoying and unfunny.
  • Mara's snarkiness and apathy for her job either makes for a unique and fun contrast between the overly enthusiastic Flo and the other sales reps, or one of the most annoying and unlikeable characters in the series. Her voice, which many people find to be grating, does not help matters.
• Ensemble Dark Horse:
  • The Dr. Rick campaign, despite being fairly recent and not having that many ads devoted to it, is the least divisive ad campaign that Progressive has ever made. Even viewers who usually don't like their commercials found it to be genuinely funny, and prefer it to the main Flo-centered campaign.
  • Flo's assistant Jamie (played by Jim Cashman) gradually gained enough prominence to become a Breakout Character. Their co-worker Mara (played by Natalie Palamides) has also gotten some moments in the spotlight.
  • Mittens, the Cute Kitten from "A Pet Too Far". Half the comments on YouTube are viewers cooing over the little diva. As well as Alan is coming up with fans as well.
• The Scrappy: The Auto Insurance Box. Flo does still have a following, but the box was unpopular from day one for being such a narcissistic, arrogant douchebag and also looking a little creepy. He suffers a Take That, Scrappy! in one commercial when he gets detained by the TSA.
