- Too Good to Last: The pilot episode aired the same day as the start of the 1988 writer's strike. It managed to limp on for a few more weeks, but Probe was killed off, despite having Isaac Asimov's notoriety and fanbase to support it.
- What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: In one episode, Austin briefly tells Mickey that he knew Santa Claus was a myth at the age of seven (he had set up a motion-controlled camera pointed at the chimney). Since the show was appearing during a family-friendly hour, there were young viewers ambushed by this revelation, resulting in complaints from Moral Guardians.
