• Tear Jerker: Cordelia's death in version 1. She was ready to die, but she wanted to see the sky and feel the grass first so she had Xamvius carry her outside of the city before he killed her.
  • Norm's backstory. Especially the death of his sibling Sorrow, his husband Devotion, and his daughter Cherish.
  • Any time the party sees Nex is pretty emotional for everyone involved. Particularly heartbreaking was Petaline seeing from Nex's perspective in a dream and remembering that Nex isn't aware of his father's death.
    Nex to Keshi: What are you doing here? You're supposed to be guarding my mom and dad.
• The Woobie: A favorite on the metaphorical writing team, several characters could or do apply, including Cordelia and Prince Nex. Uton also qualifies.
