YMMV / Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future

Go To

  • Ho Yay: Even from his debut episode, Yong-hwa is physically affectionate towards Itsuki. He's often hugging him, calling him "cute" at every chance he gets, and dragging him along with whatever suits his fancy. In fact, it was Yong-hwa's idea to debut as a duo, having taken interest in Itsuki at first sight.
  • Les Yay:
    • Mia values her relationship with Hye-in, and despite being in different groups, she is not as close to the other members in Prizmmy as she is to Hye-in, notably in how she uses the word "companions" for Prizmmy and "best friend" for Hye-in. Mia also gets angry when Hye-in talks lowly of herself and tells her that she hates it when others talk badly about people she loves, including themselves.
    • Chae-kyoung and Ayami's interactions can come off as Ship Tease, as Chae-kyoung openly tells Ayami she loves her when the latter comforts her about her acting. In addition, in Chae-kyoung's debut episode, she acts as a Manic Pixie Dream Girl to Ayami and drags her out shopping.
  • Narm: Halfway into the series, Sho and Yun-su get into a heated competition, and some of those scenes depict them designing clothes and... decorating Prism Stones. It can be quite hilarious seeing two men with serious expressions tinkering with pink boxes and pulling out heart-shaped stones with cute stickers all over them.
  • Sophomore Slump: Dear My Future is the second of the Pretty Series and it critically bombed. It was created partially to launch the franchise in South Korea, but it didn't take off, even when the series debuted in South Korea. Plans to open Prism Stone and Dear Crown shops in Korea were cancelled, and Puretty ended up disbanding for failing to draw in an audience from both countries.
