- Adorkable: Jane is just endearing in how determined, smart and tough she is, especially with her cat-eyeglasses. It helps that she's a huge woobie too.
- Heartwarming Moments: John states that throughout his life, he always hated seeing himself in the mirror and forgot how he looked when he was younger and was still living as a woman. When he sees Jane (and thus himself prior to transitioning), he tells her how beautiful she is, which is probably the first time in her whole life someone's ever told her this, given her own insecurities.
- Squick: The Reveal of how Jane was conceived thanks to Screw Yourself.
- Tear Jerker: John's whole life story. Especially when the later revelations make it clear that he had to do this to himself for the sake of the Stable Time Loop.
- The Woobie: Jane. Good God, Jane. Her whole life is basically one big series of Break the Cutie.
