- Bile Fascination: It has to be seen to be believed. What has been seen, cannot be unseen.
- Colbert Bump: The pilot episode might otherwise have remained forgotten if not for Brad Jones' DVD-R Hell review, and also for being the first show reviewed on the podcast Canceled Too Soon.
- Esoteric Happy Ending: Poochinski may have nabbed his killer, but he is still doomed to remain a dog for the rest of his life, regardless of how well he adapts.
- Nightmare Fuel:
- Poochinski as the bulldog is extremely unnerving at times; the dog's bizarre expression and crude puppetry don't help in the slightest.
- Perhaps even more offputting is the fact that nothing is said of the bulldog's fate after his former personality is replaced by Poochinski's; for all we know, his was reduced to oblivion even as his physical self remained alive.
- So Bad, It's Good: Admit it, the premise alone had you laughing your ass off too.
- Special Effects Failure: Despite Industrial Light & Magic's involvement, the animatronics used to portray Poochinski as the bulldog are extremely crude, having a bizarre design and not being able to move and talk simultaneously in any single scene.
- Squick: Poochinski making out with his female coworker after he's been turned into a dog. She's clearly enjoying his affections just a bit too much.
- Unintentional Uncanny Valley: The animatronic bulldog is certainly this, having a disturbingly cartoonish face with mouth movements that are certain to unnerve some.
