- Epileptic Trees: In light of this episode, some people think the large Dragonite from "Mystery At The Lighthouse" is really a stray mecha from the park.
- Harsher in Hindsight:
- Charmander being the only one of Ash's Pokemon besides Pikachu to vouch that Ash hasn't forgotten about them and staying loyal comes off a little bitterly ironic given what happens later when it evolves.
- Koffing and Ekans' claim that there are no inherently bad Pokemon takes on a dark subversion in the XYZ series, where a trio of Malamar are portrayed as truly malicious and with an endgame of world domination, without any Trainer commanding them to do so.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Pokemon Sword and Shield would later feature giant Pokemon, albeit as a special mode during battle rather than giant robots. The Sword and Shield season of the anime would also feature a giant-sized Pikachu; Ash's.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Admit it, it would've been much more interesting if the anime continued using subtitles for Pokémon Speak beyond this episode. We'd be able to decipher them betternote .
