  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Is Ellis Knight trying to help Cadence by refusing to let her perform because she still has a negative image, or is he letting greed get the better of him? Especially since he has Cadence locked in a dead end contract where she can't leave Overknight Records until she completes her Sophomore Album.
  • Base-Breaking Character:
    • Fiona Syed. Some players like her for her dedication to her career, insights on the music career, and helpfulness towards Cadence. Others don't like her encouraging Cadence to act fake in front of tabloids for fame and attention.
    • Ellis Knight. Some players defend him for his pragmatic outlook on the music industry, such as the need to make a profit from it. Others dislike him for his willingness to sacrifice creative integrity for the sake of money.
  • Designated Villain: Jaylen Riaz, if the player chooses to play up the rivalry with her. Many players felt that there's no real reason to treat her poorly as she has never acted maliciously towards anyone, including Cadence. Players who consistently act nice towards her also point out that she respects Cadence as an artist.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Despite her intense personality at times, Zadie Choi is highly popular among players for her dedication to her job as a fashion designer despite her parents' disapproval and loyalty towards her co-workers.
    • Hank is also popular among players for his nice, thoughtful, and supportive attitude towards Cadence.
    • Micah "Ozone" Okoye is yet another highly popular character for his supportive attitude towards his co-workers, even voicing his support for Cadence after her career was nearly destroyed when she disrupted Jaylen's performance of her song.
  • I Knew It!: Most players figured out that Jaylen was the one who bought Cadence's song "Who Will I Be", which is confirmed in Chapter 12.
  • One-Scene Wonder: The Banana outfit from Chapter 1 was supposed to show how awful it is to work at the Smoothie Star and encourage the player to buy the Premium outfit. However, many fans found the outfit absolutely hilarious and took a liking to it, even expressing disappointment that it's not a selectable outfit for Cadence to wear. It finally becomes available to wear in Chapter 15 if you didn't take the premium outfit in Chapter 14, using it to swerve through the Indio Festival crowd.
  • One True Threesome: Raleigh/Avery/Cadence quickly took off because of the sheer amount of Ho Yay between Avery and Raleigh. In Chapter 3 Cadence is even able to say they should date.
  • Strawman Has a Point: Ellis Knight may be someone willing to sacrifice artists' creativity for money, but he's right that performing art solely for the sake of it won't be profitable in the long run.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: According to this post, Shane Parker serves as the link to Cadence's pre-fame life who keeps her grounded as she rises to stardom, making him a vital element in the story chronicling an aspiring singer's rise to fame. Unfortunately, the narrative's lack of focus on him by making his appearances brief prevents the story from exploring the effects of fame on relationships.
