  • Critic-Proof: The movie, despite getting overall negative reviews from critics, wound up becoming the most watched Swedish movie in theaters of 2005.
  • Cult Classic
  • The Catchphrase Catches On: The series is infamous for featuring a lot of vocabulary invented by the writers for the show, to the point where Wikipedia lists a few of the terms that the series invented, complete with translations to "normal" Swedish. Fans may find themselves using said terms even when not discussing the show directly.
  • Funny Moments: In Lusekoftanovan, Olle and Jan-E loudly debate whether a line in the sky is mist or the exhaust from a jet plane. Sven-E demands that they stop, only to bring up his own binoculars after a pause.
    • When Jan-E digs out a gaudy pink umbrella because it's raining…
Sven-E: "Get rid of that thing."
Jan-E: "No one's gonna see us here, Sven-E. It's a human god damn right to not want to get wet. Even the avalanche bear seeks shelter when it's raining."
Sven-E: "I said get rid of that thing."
Olle: "What are you talking about?"
Sven-E: "You know what Stor-Erik called those things?"
    Jan-E: "I don't wanna get wet."
Olle: "But you're not getting wet, you're standing under a- What is that thing?"
  • Ho Yay: When Olle gets really drunk during the drinking competition against Pelle, he suggests they play some other game instead, like Post Office. Mind, they are the only two people left in the Bodega at that point.
  • Mexicans Love Speedy Gonzales: The only actor to portray one of the central brothers who actually hails from Norrland (ie. northern Sweden and where the series takes place) is Lennart Jähkel - the other two are Stockholmers putting on an exaggerated likeness of Jähkel's accent.note  The show also plays a lot of the stereotypes about people in Norrland for laughs, such as people from other parts of the country not being able to understand them due to their dialect - taken further by the invented terms mentioned above - drinking a lot of (illegally homebrewn) alcohol, regularly poaching and so on. Despite this, or possibly because of it, it remains popular in Norrland.
