- Alternate Company Equivalent:
- To Bluto/Brutus, although he predates him by several years so technically Bluto is one for him. Certainly doesn't hurt that Pinto Colvig voiced Pete AND Bluto at different times.
- Could also be one to Elmer Fudd, given his status as the Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain oldest enemy of Disney's iconic character just like Elmer is the Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain oldest enemy of WB's own iconic character.
- Can't Un-Hear It: Many fans see Jim Cummings as THE voice for Pete. To an extent, Billy Bletcher as well for being the foundation of the voice everyone associates with Pete.
- Fridge Brilliance:
- Why is Pete a cat? Because what other animal than a cat could be the perfect Arch-Enemy of a mouse.
- Also take note that he's regularly pitted against Goofy, a dog.
- Love to Hate: Naturally, being the oldest Disney villain, and one of the most iconic. A thoroughly unpleasant antagonist, but a perfect and hilarious opponent for our heroes.
- Moral Event Horizon:
- In Disney's The Prince and the Pauper, unlike in his other appearances, show Pete at his most irredeemable, being a cruel captain of the guard takes advantage of the king's illness to steal from the poor and plots to usurp by killing the Prince while using Mickey as his Puppet Ruler when the king finally passes away.
- Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers: "Hah hah hah! I'm in such a good mood." (tries to decapitate Donald). And if that didn't do it for you, there's him chaining Mickey in a dungeon that will soon rapidly fill with water, nearly drowning him.
- Newer Than They Think: A lot of people think Jim Cummings has been the voice of Pete for a bit longer than he really is, going back to the 80s. In reality, he became his voice in the early 90s starting with Goof Troop. Prior to that, Pete was actually voiced by Will Ryan in Mickey's Christmas Carol and DuckTales (1987) and by Arthur Burghardt in The Prince and the Pauper.
- Older Than They Think: As mentioned on the Western Animation page, he predates Mickey by three years.
- Popular with Furries: Being a heavyset cat, he actually has plenty of furry fans.
