• Special Effect Failure:
  • So many...
  • Many of the optical effects look as if they were taken straight from one of the not so well-done episodes of Star Trek.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Zimm's makeup is a bit hit-or-miss.
  • While most of the pets' alien forms are decent animatronic puppets, the one that turns into a puppy is mostly portrayed by a rather unconvincing hand puppet.
• Ugly Cute: The alien pets are rather adorable.
