YMMV / Persona 4 SILVER BLUE

Go To

  • Adorkable: Labrys. She’s a Fish out of Water who’s still got a lot to learn about human society and culture, and boy does it show. Sometimes even to the point that she may come across as Innocently Insensitive, and Hilarity Ensues. It also helps that she’s genuinely awed and curious about a lot of things that we would normally consider mundane or dull, since she’s spent most of her life either in stasis or in a lab.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Yosuke still gets hit with some pain from time to time, but he also ends up getting less bad luck than his canon counterpart. Maybe the author figured that Yosuke had been Butt-Monkey long enough and decided to give him a break by taking it easy on him?
  • The Woobie:
    • Labrys herself. She was made and experimented in a lab by people who didn’t care about her, she was imprisoned and sealed away for many years, she has to constantly hide who she is from the world due to being afraid of what people might do if they find out who or what she really is and constantly feels guilty about it, and when she finally manages to make some friends…one of them dies a tragic death. And on top of all that, she has memory problems.
    • Saki Konishi. She goes through the same suffering that her canon counterpart did, but since Labrys befriends her in this story, we get a slightly closer look at what her life was like before she died, and it’s not pretty.
    • Yosuke. Thankfully, he doesn’t get hit with the Butt-Monkey status as much as his canon counterpart, but he still goes through a lot nonetheless. And his shadow also implies that on top of everything else, he also may or may not have some self-loathing going on too.
    • Chie. Like her canon counterpart, deep down she’s insecure about not being pretty or “feminine enough” and on top of that, her shadow implies in her rant that she sees herself as an ugly, stupid brute, hinting at some serious self-esteem issues.
    • Yukiko. On top on having the same problems as in canon, her shadow also implies that she sees herself and her whole life as meaningless. Her shadow also says that she’s jealous of everybody else, even Yosuke, for having more freedom in their lives than her. She feels like her whole life, and the town of Inaba, are nothing more than a gilded cage where people pamper her and take care of her, but she can never leave and never decide anything for herself.
