YMMV / Peppermint Rose

• Awesome Art: The animation is gorgeous, as are the illustrations for the toyline.
• Awesome Music: The "Peppermint Rose" and "Peppermint Glow" songs are extremely catchy, with the former being a soft lullaby and the latter being a dance number.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Halfway through, Rose encounters what she thinks is a pizza joint only for it to be a trap run by an ant. She escapes via a rap-battle riddle contest, and the entire sequence stops the plot dead.
• Fridge Horror:
  • Before Petalpuff appears, Rose finds her house is empty and the phones and TV don't work, and soon after she's whisked away to the magical land. What did her family think happened to her, and what happened to them to begin with? There's also no indication she wants to or can return to her world.
  • If the beetles did eat the peppermint roses and turned the land as dark and dreary as Bugooyna, what would they eat afterward, with absolutely nothing left?
• Paranoia Fuel: Before Rose enters the world of Peppermint Rose, she finds her house is completely empty and the phone and TV aren't working. On the adults' side, Rose and her friends just left their world one day and apparently never returned.
• Quirky Work: The special is outright bizarre at times with the human-size bugs, the random events plot, and the lack of detail regarding Rose's kidnapping, and its obscurity led people to think it a fever dream.
