YMMV / Paul Revere and the Raiders

Go To

  • Aluminum Christmas Trees: Paul Revere was his real name (well, his first and middle name).
  • Covered Up:
    • "Just Like Me" was first recorded by The Wilde Knights. "Indian Reservation" was written by Country Music Singer-Songwriter John D. Loudermilk in 1959 and had been recorded by several artists over the years, including a 1968 hit version by British singer Don Fardon (the Raiders based their take on Fardon's version).
    • They also were on the receiving end of this. "Action", the theme from Where the Action Is, had its hit version recorded by Freddy Cannon. The Raiders recorded and released "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone" before The Monkees. And Mark Lindsay did a pre-Carpenters version of "We've Only Just Begun" as a solo artist.
  • Epic Riff: "Kicks"
  • Refrain from Assuming: It's not called "Cherokee People", it's "Indian Reservation (The Lament of the Cherokee Reservation Indian)".
