• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Denise, our ostensible hero, is a workaholic to start out with, then is too dense to pick up on what the Obviously Evil Molly is doing, and worst of all, has a habit of throwing people under the bus for extremely out of character indiscretions that she should have found suspicious (Ashley and the peanut allergy debacle, Josh's apparent infidelity, Grace lying to her about blowing the college interview, Liam and the company credit card). But the climax actually introduces some Fridge Brilliance into this point—Molly's revenge plot was motivated by young Denise suddenly ending their friendship, showing that she was always a self-absorbed backstabber.
