- Designated Hero: Harry uses his terminal cancer diagnosis as an excuse to kill everyone who's pissed him off over the course of his life. Many of them are only guilty of having wronged him personally, no matter what else they've done in their lives. It doesn't help that one of his victims is based on a food critic that criticized director Michael Winner in real life, meaning that the director is literally using his movie to "kill" off someone he didn't like in real life.
- Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: It's a movie about a man that goes around killing people, with the only excuse being that they are all Asshole Victims. This was a contributing factor to the movie's resoundingly negative critical reception, with many reviews specifically citing the lack of any characters one could root for. It doesn't help that unlike similar films like The Abominable Dr. Phibes, there's absolutely no style to the murders as he simply shoots them all, so we don't even get the fun of looking forward to how the next one will be done.
