  • Alternative Character Interpretation: What was Crain's exact relationship to Anna? He seems fully aware that she wasn't interested in romance, but he also reacted strongly when Zipher is opening her coffin. Furthermore, the French translation of the latter scene seems to imply he also wanted her to be brought back to life.
  • Awesome Art: Like the rest of Sho's work, the art style is really unique and eye-catching. While everything is primarily put under sepia tones, it does help set the mood and ambience of the story. There's a whole lot of eye candy in the form of the environments and character designs, too, especially with the Variants sporting features that make them easy to spot.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Kayoh, for some obvious reasons.
  • Sequel Displacement: Being the most well-known of Sho's stories, most readers aren't aware of either The Jackalope or Flower Knight Dakini.
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: It's very easy to mistake Brow for a girl, aside from his lack of eyelashes. At least, in the English translation.
  • Viewer Species Confusion: Zipher is frequently mistaken for a cat, however Sho has confirmed he is actually a dog, likely a Pomeranian mix.
  • The Woobie: Zipher. His parents died when he was young, the woman he loved died, and he loses his eye saving a child from an accident his fireworks caused. Even worse Zipher only had a one-sided love for Anna. She was never in a romance with him.
