- Ensemble Dark Horse: The main playable characters, the Netherghul, are probably the only thing about this game that was positively received.
- Funny Moments: The argument between the two trolls named Dave that serve as the first boss.
- Sequelitis: The reaction to the game's announcement had already been quite chilly, since most fans just wanted a third Overlord game, and were afraid that a spin-off would be little more than a cash-grab. Their worst fears were confirmed upon release, as the game was released in a very poor technical state, extremely lacking Minion AI and poor, uninvolving gameplay in general, which even lacked any abilities and skills. As a result, it's now doing almost as badly amongst the users of Metacritic, as Sacred III did back when it came out. The sales are not much better.
