• The Woobie: The whole ordeal poor Otto goes through makes him one. Let's see: seeing his original owner being deported, witnessing the deaths and desolation brought by air raids, getting shot, being mistreated by children in the USA then being thrown in a trash can, spending years in the storefront of an antique shop without anyone wanting to buy him, and eventually catching up with the stories of both his first owners who both lost their families to the war (David to the Death Camps and Oskar to the front and air raids)... He really earned his happy ending.
