YMMV / Open Fortress

• Awesome Music: For a Source Mod, Open Fortress has a sizable and high quality custom soundtrack, and unlike Live TF2, there is often background music in any given map.
• Friendly Fandoms: with Team Fortress 2 Classic, another TF2 Source mod, which makes sense since both mods share a number of past and present developers, and an earlier version of TF2C even featured a Deathmatch game mode complete with their own Mercenary for it. The Open Fortress Discord server also features the TF2C Civilian in a lot of artwork, if simply because their own Civilian model is still being worked on.
• Scrappy Weapon: The Lightning Gun is a very contested weapon in the playerbase, with some decrying it as overpowered while others claim it's underpowered. But in general, very few are fans of it, and the developers struggle to make it balanced.
• Spiritual Successor: The Team Fortress Classic mode can be seen as one to Fortress Forever, another Source Engine remake of TFC, except Open Fortress acknowledges TFC's integration into the TF2 universe. (To be fair, Fortress Forever couldn't, as it was made while TF2 was stuck in Development Hell while Open Fortress was made years after it finally released)
