- Awesome Music: Nearly every song in this episode stands out in some way:
- "A Powerful Magic" starts off with a very tongue-in-cheek "Enchanted" feel to it, but once the Charmings realize that it's Snow's wish manifesting itself as truth, the song becomes one part inspirational number, one part queen-bashing, and all parts empowering. When the instrumentation kicks in after the opening verses is when it first truly becomes epic.
- "Love Doesn't Stand A Chance" is, as the name might imply, a 'Love Sucks" Villain Song scaled for Lana Parrilla's alto/contralto vocal range, giving it a low, dangerous edge and, when combined with much of the choreography and Regina's costume, a very "Sweet Transvestite" vibe (stated by Word of God to be intentional). The heavy instruments and guitar make this the second most rock-operatic number in the bunch, topped only by...
- "Revenge Is Gonna Be Mine", with lyrics that are a combination of a dark "I Want" Song and an Image Song for Hook...delivered in such a showstopping manner that it sounds like George Michael and Freddie Mercury had a baby.
- "Wicked Always Wins" is a mocking "I'm Getting What I Want" Villain Song, sung in a remarkably unironically sweet, romantic major key.
- "Charmings vs. Evil Queen" is a dueling Reprise Medley of "A Powerful Magic" and "Love Doesn't Stand A Chance" between the Charmings and the Queen, with the two numbers intentionally conflicting in style, theme, and tone, but never to the point where they clash, and thereby creating the real sense of a song battle.
- "Emma's Theme" is easily the most ballad-like of the bunch, starting with Emma humming the Charmings' Leitmotif, then turning into a Pep Talk / "I Am Becoming" Song where Emma realizes, even if she goes into the Final Battle by herself, she's not truly alone, since the hearts of her friends and family are with her. This, incidentally, is what renders her heart invulnerable to the Black Fairy.
- Finally, "A Happy Beginning" starts as a Final Love Duet at Emma and Hook's wedding, then expands into a full-on Crowd Song, triumphant and hopeful even in the face of the Last Note Nightmare of the curse that kicks off the Final Battle.
- WTH, Costuming Department?: Emma's wedding dress. Various issues of the dress include being ill-fitted and poorly made, extremely impractical for dancing scenes and not suiting Emma, as a character and in general, at all.
