• Adorkable: Pretty much everyone has at least 1 trait that makes them this in their fans' eyes. Neither of them have traits that make them irredeemable, and even those with personality traits that are not favourable (Mikado in particular) have some aspect to them that makes them just as endearing as fan-favourites.
• Ensemble Dark Horse:
  • 2 words: Hotaru Kisaki. His conflict with Chihiro and the ordeals that he went through which made him The Woobie, along with his super cute smile and his seiyuu caused a lot of people to want to give him plenty of hugs. In fact, whenever he shows up in an event as the gacha SSR/event ranking reward, expect the rankings to be completely and utterly decimated by Hotaru fans clamouring for the top spots to get at least 1 copy of him.
  • Mikado Aoyagi is also this despite or because of his Covert Pervert gags. Most of the time, it's his Hidden Depths as someone who cares deeply for his friends and Tsubaki that gives him the fanbase that he has. Like Hotaru, events featuring him as an gacha SSR/ranking SR tend to attract more players than usual.
• Fandom Rivalry: A mix of this and Friendly Fandoms with the other two coly games Stand my Heroes and Promise of Wizard, having a sibling-esque relationship with each other with On Air! being the 'middle child' of the trio. However, as explained under Friendly Fandoms, there are players of On Air who also play either of the other games or all three.
• Fanfic Fuel:
  • As the April Fools' Day events take place in alternate universes, there have been plenty of fanworks depicting characters not involved with the events as though they were there.
  • Just how long has Yukiya/Cosmo have been in Hosekigaoka and how does he and Sae have a friendship with each other?
  • While MAISY refer to each other on First-Name Basis, why is Momose, of all people, the only one Yuuna refers to the same way?
• Fan Nickname:
  • 'Churro' for Chihiro due to his name sounding similar to the snack and him showing up as a SSR in nearly every event he's involved in in 2018. This became a meta Crowning Moment of Funny when On Air! had a collaboration with a shop selling churros in Japan.
  • Certain events have nicknames related to the activity; for example, the 1st Re:Fly unit event is known as the 'Beach event' while the 1st Prid's unit event was known as the 'Farm event'.
• Friendly Fandoms:
  • With the THE iDOLM@STER: SideM fandom due to related voice actors.
  • Also with the Touken Ranbu fandom, to the point where the game's Discord server at one point almost became a Touken Ranbu server.
  • The On Air! fandom also overlaps with the Dankira!!! -Boys, be DANCING!- fandom due to both games having niche topics in their respective genres. It also helps that half of Dankira's cast (before B.M.C's debut) were also in On Air!.
  • While it also falls under Fandom Rivalry somewhat, there are On Air! players who also play Promise of Wizard and Stand my Heroes due to all three games being developed by coly.
• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: On Air! has a sizeable amount of fans from the United Kingdom according to this article. Even the article's author and the British On Air! fandom aren't sure how it happened.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The main story's premise is Hikari organizing the Grand Euphoria to save Hosekigaoka from shutting down due to heavy competition from other voice acting schools. Come July 31 2020, On Air!, along with 6 other mobile games, would announce a server closure possibly due to competition from other mobile games in the same genre.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Because Hotaru's name can also be read as 'Kei', Azuki calls Hotaru 'Keinoji'. And then Toshiyuki Toyonaga gets cast as Kei Kagemiya, who shares his first name with Hotaru and also resembles him a little.
• Memetic Mutation:
  • "I’m going to graduate from my parents! And enter to you!" ^Explanation Courtesy of Ryōta Ōsaka (Sora) - in the livestream broadcast on 31 March 2020 in commemoration of the big update, Jun'ya Enoki (Arata), Ryota and Yūto Uemura (Tomoe) played an improv game with Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Hotaru) (already the source of majority of the stream's Funny Moments) as the judge. On Ryota's 2nd round, he was given 'graduation' as the topic and he proceeded to say just that. The fandom proceeded to run with it due to a lack of context.
  • Ratkado^Explanation A Chinese New Year 2020 fanart depicting Mikado as a rat quickly became this due to his personality.
• Moe: Thanks to the artstyle and the Adorkable moments, most, if not all of the cast are this. Of note are:
  • Ota, Nanao and Ranma for being the cheerful kids in their respective groups.
  • Sairi, in a 'want to protect' sense since he's crying most of the time.
  • Up to eleven with Hotaru, especially during his When He Smiles moments. This is why his events are hard to rank in...
• No Yay:
  • For obvious reasons, fanworks that portray Rikka/Sairi and Chihiro/Hotaru in a romantic/sexual light are frowned upon in the international fanbase. However, there are fanart of Chihiro/Hotaru circling around Twitter...
  • For that matter, due to them being the youngest members of the cast, any pairings with Sairi and Azuki alongside another character are an absolute no-no, especially when the other party is Sae or any of the third-years.
• The Woobie: In particular, the whole of Eme☆Kare and Re:Fly are this with all of them having a Dark and Troubled Past. For individual characters, there's Sairi, Hotaru and Mamoru.
