• Complete Monster: Abner Stone, aka The Prophet, is the head of the Apostolic Saints, a polygamy cult. The Saints are infamous for "marrying" teenagers to grown men. During the final confrontation, Stone surrenders, but not before causing the building his followers are in to explode, making "martyrs" of at least a dozen or so.
• Fridge Horror: Josephine's father objected to Josephine marrying Abner Stone. At first it comes off like he was trying to protect her, but that doesn't quite make sense; not only was he in a position to see those kinds of marriages as normal (and may well have had a few underage brides himself), but Josephine also indicates that he had "lots" of other daughters, but that he left them behind despite the fact that he had to know they'd likely be forced into similar marriages. And then it's revealed that Josephine is the product of a marriage between her father and one of his own daughters. It could be that Josephine was his favorite and that's why he protected her but not her half-sisters — or it could be that he just didn't want her to marry Abner because he wanted to keep her for himself instead.
