• Squick: Ayano and Takeharu's intimate relationship, especially given that Takeharu is mentally handicapped and couldn't consent of his own will. Ayano also acts like a caretaker to him, and at one point Noriko overhears her and Kimie having a conversation about "clearing the blockage" when Takeharu is constipated. Also, the orgy towards the end of the book where Noriko is mentally beaten into submission by her family's constant verbal and emotional abuse and then essentially raped by all of them.
• The Woobie: Noriko, who spends the entire book questioning herself and enduring the increasingly sinister actions of her in-laws while slowly breaking down.
