- Alternative Character Interpretation: Applies to all the characters basically:
- Was Bernard eaten by the monster, or was he THE MONSTER... as in, he started behaving like a monster because his parents were so ignorant towards him?
- As above, is the reason the parents "haven't noticed" their son's gone is because he hasn't gone?
