• Broken Base: After thirteen long years, Makai Wars has finally been announced...as a Mobile Phone Game. This announcement has left many long time fans disappointed as they wished Asagi's game was a console or handheld game like her predecessors.The fact that Japanese developers, including Nippon Ichi, have a history of not localizing their mobile games and the heavy promotion of Disgaea main characters, leading to fears of Asagi being overshadowed in her own game, doesn't help. And that's not counting the built-in stigma from western gamers against mobile RPGs in general, especially considering difficulty concerns and the notoriety behind gacha mechanics. Still, there are fans who remain optimistic regardless, especially with Nippon Ichi president Sohei Niikawa saying that they will eventually develop a proper Makai Wars console game. Others feel that because Asagi is not getting a full-fledged console or handheld game like her predecessors, this will allow Nippon Ichi continue the infamous Hostile Show Takeover schtick, with her fighting to instead get a proper console or handheld game.
• Heartwarming Moments: The Makai Wars live event concert had two. One was finally announcing that Asagi's game was now in the planning stages and thanking all who supported her Asagi Fan Club, which reached over 10,000 followers. The second was the final song. What's the best way to thank the audience and all the fans for supporting Nippon Ichi? By having every performer come on stage and sing Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure's "Thank You".
• Memetic Mutation: "Onore, Nippon Ichi!" ^note Translates to "Damn you, Nippon Ichi". It is often said in response to the dark twists that occur in several Nippon Ichi games. It especially gained traction during Japanese livestreams of Yomawari: Night Alone and Yomawari: Midnight Shadows where viewers in chat post the phrase in response to both games' First-Episode Twist. Other variations include "Typical Nippon Ichi" and "'Harsh on Girls' Nippon Ichi" (referring to said twists often involving girls).
