YMMV / Ninjas And Superspies

Go To

  • Surprisingly Improved Sequel: While Ninjas & Superspies was never really a bad game it has mostly flown under the radar of other Palladium series like Rifts or Heroes Unlimited due to its relatively short length (the core rulebook is a mere 176 pages compared to the 200+ most other series get) and lack of depth beyond a bunch of fancy martial arts, guns, cybernetics, gadgets and other cool features to play around with. It's sequel sourcebook Mystic China managed to change all that with the addition of several new types of magical abilities and a greatly expanded amount of content focused around Chinese mythology. Not only did it greatly expand the amount of options players now had access to but also offered several fun new ways to play the game with added monster R.C.C. and powerful demonic enemies to fight. All in all, it took what made the core game great and injected it with a much needed dose of longevity and improved gameplay mechanics that really helped it to feel like a much more complete game than it did initially.
