• Alternate Character Interpretation: Some lines indicate that Lisa could be abusive, given a scene where she seems unusually mean to Matt and firing back when he asks if she's taken any pills today. When she ties him up, she also walks over him wearing high heels. Or she could simply be very high strung and impulsive (since Matt doesn't seem to mind too much whatever she does).
• Fetish Retardant: The excessiveness of the sex scenes (and the aversion of Idealized Sex) means that they become decidedly un-erotic after a while.
• Overshadowed by Controversy: The film is best remembered for the scandal surrounding the unsimulated sex scenes performed on camera.
