YMMV / Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon

  • Awesome Music: The theme that played during the trailers for the game, Lucia, is quite a song to listen to, featuring rocking guitars and a melodious vocal work. The song also plays during the final battle against Malvasia as a Theme Song Power Up.
  • Difficulty Spike: Similar to the first game, the majority of the game is simple enough. However, the fight against Moon Queen Malvasia at the end of the game is a sequential boss fight and her third form can shred through Aluche's party quickly. And unlike in the first game, there are no Servans with healing Bursts anymore.
  • Game-Breaker:
    • In terms of Lilies, Arnice stands out due to her high damage output, and the fact that she can heal herself with one of her skills.
    • Veruschka is another one early on in the game due to her speed and attack power. Her special ability also allows her to instantly kill one random enemy in the field.
    • For Servans, Spora is the preferred choice for those that want to break the game in two. Her special attack deals a lot of damage in a wide area, eating large chunks of a boss' life bar with each activation.
  • Ho Yay: the first game was pretty famous for the Les Yay between Arnice and Lillyse, and the sequel spread the Les Yay to even more characters.
    • Aluche and Lilina's Double Chase ends with the Lilina feeling weak for a moment, and Aluche catches her in her arms and cradles her against her chest.
    • After Aluche uses a zipline to get her and Liliana across a chasm, Liliana comments how firm Aluche's muscles felt, and how warm her body was. Aluche could do this with other Lilies when you go to areas with ziplines later in the game, with the Lilies comments getting more suggestive the higher their relationship value
    • After getting to the hotel, Aluche offers to share the bed with Ruenheid for old times sake. Ruenheid immediately gets flustered. Then when Aluche changes her mind and says that they should all get their own rooms to "live like champions," Ruenheid storms off in a huff. Meanwhile, going to the rooftop designed to be a wedding chapel has Ruenheid asking Aluche if she has ever thought about getting married, before waving it off as nothing in embarrassment when Aluche asks her to be clearer.
    • When Aluche helps the other girls across the river in Eurulm, she usually does so in a Bridal Carry. Remarks start off as platonic at zero Relationship levels, with the Lilies getting more flustered the more Relationship levels you have.
    • After defeating the first boss, Camilla wants to observe how water affects Aluche's new body. So they go to the pool. After Aluche swims for a bit, Camilla looks over her body and Aluche starts to get flustered. When Camilla says that examinations don't embarrass her Aluche takes it as a challenge and begins looking over her body. Aluche ends up getting turned on and runs out in embarrassment.
    • It's gotten to the point that Arnice asks her successor whether Aluche is in love with Liliana. And even Arnice gets some of this from Aluche when the latter sees the former in her bikini and is very impressed with her body. And their link attack ends with Arnice giving Aluche a Bridal Carry.
  • Magnificent Bitch: The original Malvasia, also known as the Moon Queen, is a demon who was once in love with a human named Alstromeria. As their love was not accepted by the other humans, Alstromeria killed Malvasia before committing suicide. Malvasia is resurrected and experimented on by the Curia until she escapes and learns about Alstromeria's death. Believing that demon and human couldn't live together, Malvasia decides to kill all humans by spreading the Eternal Night. When Arnice tries to stop her, Malvasia forces her to surrender by kidnapping her girlfriend Lilysse and corrupts Arnice by torturing her and telling her that she killed Lilysse. When she faces Aluche for the first time, she manages to kill her and to kidnap her friend Liliana to take her power. When Liliana escapes and Aluche is resurrected has an half-demon, Malvasia plans to make Aluche stronger for their next fight, sending her right-hand Vallderossa to hurt Aluche's friend.
  • Sequel Difficulty Spike: While the game is as simple as the first game, the removal of Servans with Healing Bursts forces players to play more carefully lest they end up back at Hotel Eterna early, thus wasting the night. On the other hand, prior to the 1.01 patch, Aluche's time limit did not disappear during boss fights, forcing players to deal as much damage as they can possibly dish out before Aluche is forced to retreat back to the Hotel Eterna.
