YMMV / Night of the Creeps

• Cult Classic: The film even directly references Plan 9 from Outer Space.
• Retroactive Recognition: Veteran character actor David Paymer in one of his first roles, as the Young Scientist who forgets the door code.
• Special Effects Failure: The string is clearly visible on the slug that "flies" into Brad's mouth.
• Spiritual Successor: Slither, which is also a horror comedy with orifice invading space slugs.
• Tear Jerker: J.C's recorded message on the tape recorder in which he reveals that he was in love with Chris. It makes all the previous scenes in which he's trying to cheer Chris up and/or help him woo a girl much harder to watch in hindsight.
• Values Resonance: J.C Hooper being a gay, disabled student whose sexuality or disability was never played for laughs is absolutely progressive for a movie made in the mid-80's.
