• Awesome Moments:
  • Cooper's Establishing Character Moment where he sneaks up on a pedophile that Lara lures to a hotel room and knocks him out with a baseball bat. After the man regains consciousness, Cooper has him sign a check so his money will be distributed among the girls he victimized.
• Heartwarming Moments:
  • Cooper giving Lara a fatherly hug after she's rescued from Simon's lair.
  • Marshall covering a sleeping Faye with a blanket after returning home.
  • Faye turning on ocean noises on her cell phone to help her dad sleep.
  • After watching Glasow find his baby daughter, Marshall rushes home and gives Faye a hug.
  • Marshall talking with Faye about the struggles he has with his job and how she is the one good thing in his life.
  • Rachel comforting Lara over Cooper's death.
  • Cooper's letter to Lara at the end:
    Lara, I write this in the event of my death. And I've left instructions within. Although you allowed me to be your guardian, know that you were also mine. Your light saved me. Now shine.
    • Earlier in the film, Cooper is seen lighting two candles, likely in tribute to his late wife and daughter. At the end, Lara is seen lighting those candles along with a third one.
• Nightmare Fuel:
  • Glasow's baby daughter is kidnapped and found in a package that's purported to be a bomb. There's a very tense moment where it looks like she's dead, but then she wakes up.
  • Rachel and Lara nearly being burned alive by Simon and his twin.
• Squick:
  • What little results we see of a pedophile's castration early in the film.
  • Simon urinating on the window of his prison cell door.
• Tear Jerker:
  • Cooper's distress over Lara's disappearance.
  • Quinn's sudden death by car bomb, cemented by Rachel and Glasow's reactions. Worse, he's last seen sharing a friendly moment with Glasow as they leave the police station for the night.
  • Glasow's worry over his kidnapped infant daughter and his tearful reunion with her.
  • Cooper's death and Lara's reaction to the news.
