- Alternate Character Interpretation: Phoebe and apparently Sebastien dislike Lillian Meadows for no obvious reason other than her interference with one of LeClere's affairs, which seems to amuse her. However, given that the guy in question turns out to not give a fig about LeClere, and that Meadows seems to read people pretty well, there's a good chance that Meadows was actually protecting LeClere from a cad.
- Moment of Awesome: When the duke asks Abby Irene to turn over what he hopes is the single copy of a letter exonerating Mayor Eliot of involvement with the Fenians, and she finally stands up to him, saying that she's already deposited copies with various other officials.
