• Jerkass Woobie: More jerkass than woobie, but Ritsuko is a deeply broken woman. On the one hand, she has no friends and the man she's in love with doesn't care about her at all. On the other, she drove her friends away by focusing on Gendo, upon realizing such and that he doesn't care about her she blames Rei, and is a massive Jerkass to the pilots, including threatening Touji's sister and assaulting Rei when the pilots refuse to perform the nude synch test.
