• Anvilicious: The game is not subtle about it's core message that War Is Hell, with Simon frequently eulogizing the tragedy and pointlessness of conflict.
• Awesome Music:
  • Preliator by Globus, the de facto main theme of the game, and the song that plays in the final battle with Mephisto. Coincides with Ominous Latin Chanting.
  • The credits song, Orchard of Mines, also by Globus.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Just after the opening mission, an animation sequence occurs that looks rather like a trailer for the game, within the game. In it, Simon wakes up on the battlefield, with the Shadowhand, and proceeds to encounter both the barbed-wire monster and several other monsters. When Simon wakes up in the next mission, he lacks the Shadowhand and has never seen any of the monsters before.
• Narm: The voice acting is... not polished to say the least. That Simon himself seems to have two voice actors both with wildly different personalities pushes him into the realm of the absurd at times.
• Narm Charm: At the same time, the game overlaps with this with some players, as the game is so utterly balls-to-the-wall batshit in its story and gameplay that it's hard not to smile.
• Funny Moments: "Kill the biggest bastard in the universe and get out of Hell once and for all!" as a mission objective
• Moment of Awesome:
  • "Simon says: Kiss my human ass!"
  • "This mailman is gonna kick some ass" said after reading a dead soldier's letter to his wife, after Simon had previously declared to the (at the time living) soldier that wasn't going to take the letter.
