YMMV / Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Inheritors of the Will of Fire

Go To

  • Anvilicious: Idealism is always right, and cynicism is always wrong.
  • Ass Pull: How can we defeat Hiruko if he can absorb ninjutsu and physical attacks can't hurt him? Don't worry, with no foreshadowing whatsoever it's revealed that he can't absorb Naruto's Rasenshuriken and he doesn't even bother to dodge it with his Super-Speed.
  • Informed Wrongness: We are obviously supposed to side with Naruto in the story and view Kakashi and Tsunade's actions as cold, cynical and wrong; for being willing to sacrifice a life instead of finding a "better" way. Despite the fact that they are both convinced that a sacrifice is the ONLY way to defeat the villain, and are doing what they have to prevent a global ninja war that would result in thousands of lost lives. In many other stories their actions would be heroic and praiseworthy.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Shikamaru's out of nowhere antagonism towards Naruto seems to be this since it had little build up. As well as Gaara's one scene cameo.
